Believe me when I say this…I have always had a love/hate (more hate) relationship with eating healthy and working out. I loved how I felt when I worked out and ate decent but man I really did not like putting in the effort.
After I had my son I was no different than any other Mom who was struggling to get those last 10-15 pounds off and after three years I finally made a decision to get off my ass and get serious about losing that baby weight. In order to get a workout in I had to do it first thing in the morning so I forced myself to get up 45 minutes earlier at 5 a.m. each weekday to do my 30-40 minute cardio/weight videos in the basement. I also counted calories allowing myself one cheat day a week.
Did it work? Absolutely and it was an amazing feeling not only physically but mentally too knowing that I achieved my goal. I also had a health coach at this time. She held me accountable during my journey and helped me stay on track. I loved working with her. BUT my time ended with her because she ended up going back to school. That’s when I feel I got lost. You know why? It was hard! So I would start over and over and over. Always ending up feeling like a failure. I kept at it though because I knew I wanted to be healthy for me and my family. Plus feeling hot in your summer shorts just feels good, am I right?!
In 2017, I officially became a Certified Heath Coach through the Health Coach Institute, accredited through the International Coaching Federation. Believe me I am not perfect and I do not pretend to be either. I mean I still love me some Mexican food and a margarita from time to time. However, what I can offer my clients is that I am someone who has been where they are. I have struggled with weight my whole life. I didn’t like healthy food options. I hated working out. But over time I saw a shift change in my habits and knew that I can offer solutions that will slowly open others eyes to the small changes they can make that will lead to huge transformations.
So here we go.
